Guess who forgot to do a comic post last week……this kid…..that just means I will do two this week! Moving on

One of this weeks comics is

This comic is wonderful. It is an adventure and coming of age story about children whose body parts have become fighting monsters and the organization trying to find and stop them 

The story revolves around Bina Blum, a kind and thoughtful girl who is having some trouble at home and at school. On top of all her regular problems her heart has been turned into one of the monsters. Though it just wants to keep her safe people are after it and her. She meets other children along the way with monsters as well and they join her on an adventure to keep themselves and their monsters safe.

Why should you read it?

The writing is amazing and causes you to become incredibly emotionally invested in the characters. You genuinely care about their well being and just want to help them out. There are points in the comic that pull at your heart strings and make you just want to hug everyone. I feel you have to have a good connection with the characters to make a story intriguing.

The story is so creative. The idea is very unique and well executed. It is equal parts sweet, a little creepy, and very smart. There are parts in the story that are bound to make you a little uncomfortable, but it just adds to the overall feel of the story and makes all the sweet moments more special. Once you start reading it is very hard to stop because the story is so interesting and engaging. 

The comic updates Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and will keep you coming back every week. I really hope you will check it out it is pretty fantastic. As always the links are in the source and please send me links to anything you think I should check out. See you later this week!

For this weeks comic I choose something a little lighter

This comic is about the adventure of two young bunny siblings. Their world of Dreamside is put in danger when Nightmare Knight, a creature of legend, is summoned by an evil queen.

The comic follows Cucumber and Almond on this exciting quest. Cucumber is an aspiring wizard who just got into a prestigious magic academy, but “destiny” has other plans for him and Almond, his younger sister. She has dreams of one day becoming a great knight, but that isn’t appropriate for a little sister. The two of them meet a lot of interesting characters, good and bad, on their quest to save their home. 

Why should you read it?

This comic is so creative. Gigi clearly put in a lot of effort when creating her universe. Even the towns the characters travel to are very detailed and well thought out. Everything is fun and quirky which helps enhance the story. 

The art is also beautiful. The simplistic but interesting style gives the comic a kind of story book feel which fits the plot, but also helps keep the story light and funny. 

The characters are amazing and easy to grow attached to.You will legitimately root for them to win or fail and care about what happens to them.  

If you want to relive a little bit of your childhood with a smart script and lovable, funny characters check out Cucumber Quest. The story is amazing and will make you giggle the whole way through.

So for those of you who don’t know I am really into webcomics. I read quite a few and have decided I need to share some with you. I also decided that I need more content that I actually write on my blog so I am going to try to do this about once a week.

I will be primarily posting comics that have a strong story line, rather than one shot comics, but if I really enjoy a more traditional comic strip I will be sure to post it too. I will link any comic I write about in the source.

Also if there are any comics you really love send them to me. I want to read them! 

AWAY WE GO!

The comic I want to start with is called Badirfilay written by Nessa Ninona

 The comic is set in a steam punk style Barcelona of 1899-1900 and follows the characters Grim and Mr. Valdemar. A man and his apprentice who are part of an underground organization that bring people who weren’t meant to die back from the dead…for a price.

So why should you read it?

For one I think the art for this comic is gorgeous and really complements the overall feel and themes throughout the comic.

The story is also very engaging. It is equal parts morose, disturbing, and funny allowing the reader to really explore the characters and question the moral implications they face. 

A bonus is that they update fairly frequently which is pretty impressive for how detailed some of the art can be. 

This comic may not be for all readers, it contains nudity, violence, and some mildly disturbing imagery, which is to be expected with death being a primary theme. If these things don’t bother you I would highly suggest reading it (Link in the source).
